Sustainable Tourism Award
This is a new category of award for Cumbria Tourism and one which we are feel reflects the current need for responsible tourism and recognises all of those ethically run businesses striving to do the right thing for our wonderful environment. Our fellow finalists included our friends at Langdale Leisure Ltd and Greystone Farm Shop and tearoom. Well done to all of us!
Sponsored by Friends of the Lake district the Sustainable tourism award is for any tourism business working to maximise their positive impact on the environment and local area/community while communicating their environmental commitment to their visitors.
The winner will demonstrate a proven commitment to sustainable best practice, either through particular innovation that is having a positive long term impact or marked improvement in a given area within the last 2 years.

New 4* Grading for Cote How
Cote how has recently been awarded a 4 star grading from Visit Britain. Whilst part of the house has been graded a five star, we still have some work to do to improve all areas to meet this standard.
We are planning to improve the Rydal Suite bathroom in Dec 2008 and will continue with installing Herdwick wool carpets throughout the upstairs over the spring and summer of 2008. |
Finalists for the SUSTAINABLE TOURISM awards
Cote How Organic Guest House has been short listed to the final three businesses in the Cumbria tourism "Sustainable Tourism" awards.
The main awards ceremony is to be held on May 13th in Kendal where the lucky winners will be announced.
This is just one of 15 categories of award to be presented on the night "Oscar Style".

Cote How achieves Highly Commended on the Considerate Hotel of the Year Awards 2006
