You can choose our traditional full English breakfast comprising rare breed English bacon and traditionally made Cumberland sausages with oven roasted fresh tomatoes, chestnut mushrooms and any choice of organic eggs or choose vegetarian/ Vegan options with veggie sausages and any of the above, along with fresh fruit, cereals, homemade Granola, gluten free muesli, yoghurts, toast and homemade marmalade. For vegan breakfast we can add organic baked beads and freshly roasted potato and onion hash.
Please pre-order vegan and vegetarian breakfasts the night before so that we can be prepared for when you come down to enjoy!

All of our rooms are extremely spacious and each one has been individually decorated and furnished to the highest standards to suit each room.
Cote How lies in the heart of Rydal, which is nestled between Ambleside and Grasmere in one of the most picturesque spots the Lakes has to offer.
We are situated approximately 1 mile north of Ambleside. Rydal is a very special place, steeped with history and natural beauty making this place a favourite spot for visitors of all ages and abilities.
Local places to visit include Rydal Hall, Rydal Mount and Dove Cottage - Home of William Wordsworth for over 30 years, and Rydal Water, Rydal Cave and Grasmere.
Favourite walks include The Fairfield Horseshoe, Nab Scar, Loughrigg, Rydal Cave and a picturesque walk around Rydal Water and Grasmere taking in the famous "Coffin Route".
The River Rothay runs past the house winding it's way from Grasmere, through Rydal Water and onto Lake Windermere, passing the famous Stepping Stones and Weirs.
We have the famous boat house on Rydal Water along with exclusive sailing rights on the Lake.
If you are a keen sailor or fancy a little tranquil fishing on the Lake, then Cote How is a good choice for you.
If you fancy a day kayaking, then we have ample car parking to take your own boat trailer, or you are welcome to borrow our own kayaks for messing around on the water. The Lake is approx 250m from the house, along a footpath.
David is a former Peak District National Park Ranger and a qualified Walk Leader and will be happy to offer advice if you have never visited this area before.
We also run Navigation training courses, both residential courses and daily courses from Cote How. Please click here for more information on Navigation training for beginners or intermediates.
We also offer washing and drying facilities, and have plenty of storage room for bicycles, kayaks etc. Please ask if you have any concerns.
Our Tea Rooms are currently open to the Public at the Weekends, with hot homemade food, sandwiches, drinks etc available including packed lunches.
Most of our dishes are suitable for vegetarian and vegans.
David is a vegetarian and as such we are both very respectful of other people's food preferences. Our breakfasts are available as vegetarian, vegan or traditional full English and we can also cater for special dietary needs such as gluten free or wheat free.
All of our produce is sourced locally making our breakfasts a rare Cumbrian treat!
